More than 400 species of worms are known that can parasitize animals and humans. The infestations they cause are generally named by the type of helminth.
The most common parasitic diseases include: ascariasis, enterobiasis, opisthorchiasis, hookworm, cysticercosis, teniarinchiasis, echinococcosis, strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, taeniasis, hymenolepiasis, diphyllobothriasis, trichinosis. Most often, helminths are located in the intestines, but they can also colonize other organs and tissues - liver, muscles, lungs, eyes, brain and others.
Symptoms of parasites in the human intestine
The intestine is the preferred location for parasites.Symptoms of parasites, especially in the initial phase and/or with low intensity of infection, may appear slightly or completely absent. And the most pronounced ones are often confused with manifestations of other diseases.
Worms often cause chronic diseases of the digestive system, which can occur even in the absence of helminth infestations. These are enterocolitis, pancreatitis, gastritis, cholecystitis.Helminthiases often result in serious complications that lead to death.
The main symptoms of intestinal helminthiasis:
- Flatulence, constipation, diarrhea. These gastrointestinal disorders arise due to the release of metabolic products by helminths and physical effects on the digestive tract. They are often chronic and appear over several years.
- Pain in muscles and joints. They are mainly caused by the migration of adults and larvae from one tissue and organ to another. In this case, the latter are injured, become inflamed and react with immunological reactions, resulting in pain.
- Allergic reactions.Allergies can manifest themselves in different ways - eczema, hive-like rash, the appearance of papillomas and acne. Its cause is irritation and damage to the intestinal walls by helminths and the ingress of small particles of abdominal contents into the blood through damaged vessels.
- Occasional strong feeling of hunger.Caused by nutrient deficiency due to their absorption by helminths and decreased blood sugar levels.
- Weight fluctuations in one direction or another.Weight loss can be caused by lack of nutrients and digestive disorders.Excess weight is caused by a constant feeling of hunger and frequent large meals.
- Neuroses and mental disorders. They are explained by intoxication of the body with helminth residues.Neurotic and mental disorders are manifested by feelings of restlessness and anxiety, depression and constant irritability.
- Teeth grinding during sleep. It is a very characteristic sign of the presence of helminths in the body.
- Decreased immunity. It manifests itself as dysbiosis, frequent colds and the appearance of tumors, including malignant ones.
Important!Pay attention to your appearance.

A person infected with helminths for a long time may not be aware of the invasion. However, if you are careful, its signs can be noticed even with mild severity. With helminthiasis, the appearance inevitably changes due to disruption of the functioning of the whole organism.
In particular:
- the skin becomes rough;
- peel your nails;
- acne, freckles and age spots appear;
- seborrhea occurs.
The appearance of all these signs suggests that helminths have already caused significant damage to the gastrointestinal tract and worsened the functionality of the entire body.
Intestinal helminth infections cause symptoms similar to the manifestations of many serious diseases - pneumonia, pancreatitis, acute appendicitis.Symptoms characteristic of viral infections occur, such as tonsillitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis and polyps in the nasal cavity.
Most parasites cause mild or moderate mental disorders.A constant state of stress and irritation causes anxiety, restlessness and depression.Patients experience constant fatigue, sleep poorly and grind their teeth in their sleep.
The most serious manifestations of helminthiasis include immunological disorders, which result in frequent respiratory diseases and malignant neoplasms. All this clearly indicates the progression of the disease.
What else happens to the body due to helminthiasis?
Symptoms of parasites in the small intestine appear in response to the following worm activity.
Helminths secrete antienzymes - substances that impede their digestion. This causes digestive disorders and, as a result, decreased nutrient absorption, diarrhea and anemia. In particular, in intestinal helminthiasis, fatty acids are poorly absorbed.

The small intestine is the traditional location for worms, particularly ubiquitous parasites such as pinworms and roundworms.
The first settle first in the lower part of the small intestine and then colonize the large intestine.
Important.Adult roundworms can block the airway and cause suffocation. They can also block the small intestine, bile ducts, and gallbladder. This leads to constipation, obstructive jaundice, severe pain in the hypochondrium, vomiting with the appearance of worms in the rejected masses.
In ascariasis, the penetration of worms into the liver, bile ducts and abdominal cavity can cause abscesses. This is an extremely serious, life-threatening complication with the possibility of penetration into the abdominal cavity with the development of peritonitis.
Cleaning with baking soda
People are always interested in the possibility of getting rid of diseases with folk remedies at home. This is convenient, as any treatment procedure can be carried out with maximum comfort, without wasting time on visits to the clinic.
One of the popular folk remedies to combat helminths is sodium bicarbonate. It turned out that, in addition to the laxative and cleansing effect, sodium bicarbonate is also destructive for helminths.Experimental doctors have developed their own recipes for using soda in the treatment of various diseases, including helminthiasis.
Just a note.Sodium bicarbonate is an alkali.Healthy blood is alkaline.Over the years, the human body becomes acidic, which leads to the appearance of many diseases, including cancer.
When symptoms of parasites appear, cleaning with soda helps to quickly deal with helminths.Especially those that are at least temporarily located in the large intestine.Cleaning parasites with soda solution allows you to remove adult worms and their larvae. This removes about 70% of the toxins and waste secreted by helminths.
The anthelmintic effectiveness of soda increases if the entire gastrointestinal tract is exposed to it - from top to bottom.Of course, the upper and middle sections of the gastrointestinal tract can only be treated with soda orally, that is, drinking a soda solution. The lower areas can be affected with an enema.
Pinworms, roundworms, tapeworms, Siberian worms, eels, fasciolopsis, tapeworms and some other parasites react sharply to soda therapy.
Soda enemas
The event is held in 3 stages.
1st stage.Preparing for soda enemas
This operation is done using a regular salt water enema. The purpose of the procedure is to cleanse the body and ensure full access of the soda solution to the intestinal walls and parasites.
Take 1 to 2 liters (depending on the patient's constitution) of boiled water. It contains 1…2 tablespoons.I.table salt.It is necessary to prevent absorption of the enema solution through the intestinal walls.
It is more convenient to introduce water with an Esmarch mug.The tip must be lubricated with vegetable oil or petroleum jelly. It is advisable to keep the water inside for 5...10 minutes. It is recommended to “breathe with your stomach”.Those who don't know what it is can talk to those who do yoga or breathing exercises.“Abdominal breathing” allows you to massage the organs and ensure the solution penetrates all their curves. After emptying, proceed to the second step.
2nd stage.Soda enema
Add 1 second to 0.8...1 liter of boiled and cooled water.I.soda, stir and heat the solution to a temperature of 38...40°C.After that, they do an enema. The soda solution must be kept indoors for about 30 minutes. Then go to the bathroom.
Attention.During this phase, mild abdominal pain may occur. This is not dangerous and indicates that helminths resist removal from the intestine, trying to remain in its walls.
3rd stage.Second cleansing enema
It is done exactly like the first one.To increase efficiency, you can add some lemon juice along with salt.
All three cleansing steps must be repeated 8 to 10 times during the day.The following cleaning procedures can be done the next day or during the day.

A few notes about cleaning with soda:
- The water should be neither cold nor hot.For cleansing enemas (stage 1 and 3) it should be between 20…25°C, for soda enema (stage 2) – 38…40°C.
- Water should be introduced gradually to avoid discomfort or pain.
Cleaning with soda is not recommended in the following cases:
- If a person is on a salt-free diet.Since soda removes salts from the body, severe deficiency may occur, which is undesirable.
- If you have an individual intolerance to soda.
- If you are taking calcium supplements or calcium-rich foods. In this case, you need to temporarily stop taking calcium.
- With low acidity of gastric juice. When taking soda orally, the acidity will decrease even more, which will harm the digestion of food.Ulcers may even occur.
If any negative reaction of the body to soda occurs, it is necessary to reduce the concentration of the solution or stop cleaning for a while.Perhaps the procedure on another occasion would be more successful.
If cleaning with baking soda is unsuccessful, you should consult your doctor to prescribe an alternative treatment.
The intestinal location of helminths compared to some others, for example liver or brain, is generally easier to treat. There may even be cases of self-healing.However, you need to know that some intestinal helminth infections have very dangerous complications that pose a threat to life.
Therefore, you cannot rely solely on your body strength. If you have any symptoms that suggest the presence of helminths in the body, immediately contact a parasitologist.Only he can tell if there is cause for alarm or if nothing dangerous has happened.
